About Us
Born during the Forgotten War, the Korean Conflict, as a child without a father who was delivered into the loving arms of Big Mama. Often referred to as the “He will be alright” kid, he lived and survived on the streets of many cities; San Antonio, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Detroit. Living the struggle of painful the poor, books, or anything with print, became Quinn’s refuge. This love of reading and the freedom it gives, prepared him to be a winner at life on the streets, and for entering college at an early age.
When his draft number came up during the Vietnam War, Quinn chose the United States Air Force as a means of escaping the meat grinder and the horror of a losing war. Enlisting for the short tour, he then volunteered for special duty service to working on highly classified systems and missions around the world. His tours of duty took him to numerous countries across the globe, some of those countries no longer exist having been conquered or absolved. Quinn survived the turmoil and trauma of his military service by writing. Writing allowed him to capture the beauty, joy, and pain of a life lived out loud. But, still he was unable to avoid the reality of life lived according to someone else’s rules.
His military career lasted 26 years and was followed by careers in Engineering, Finance, Information Technology and Cybersecurity. Now retired, Quinn enjoys family, reading and writing, and has sprinkled in gardening, travel and working with others. Learning to live life One Day At A Time was a process, one Quinn learned by seeing life in its many forms flavored by the many cultures he experienced.
Believing that every life has merit, Quinn spends time working with young people from hard and often dangerous neighborhoods. He has been a speaker nationwide at youth and young adult conferences. Quinn often speaks with young people, teachers, law enforcement and social services about intervention strategies, mentoring and healing. His efforts were geared towards equipping our young people for whatever they are going to create as our next. Blessed with a voice, and a belief driven by faith, Quinn believes every day is a journey that can only be lived One Day At A Time.
Warrior, father, brother, friend, husband to Rose Marie, and man of faith, Quinn has seen most of the world and lived a life full of grace.
